Elaina Bailey currently attends Wayne State University Law School. She participated in the Moot Court program and the Philip C. Jessup International Moot Court program. Her 2016 Jessup team was the Midwest Regional Champion and received the First-Place Memorial Award. During her time at Wayne Law, she has served as an intern at the United States District Court of Eastern District of Michigan to the Honorable Avern L. Cohn and worked as a Research Assistant to the WSU Director of the International Legal Studies Program. Also, Elaina worked as the Senior Editor of the State Bar of Michigan International Law Section’s Journal, Michigan International Lawyer. Elaina studied Political Science at the University of Michigan and received her Bachelors of Arts degree in 2011.
Elaina is from and currently lives in Taylor, Michigan. Her interest in labor and employment law stems from her blue-collar roots. Elaina’s parents have worked various jobs in the automobile industry and Elaina worked as a server in bars and restaurants to pay her way through school. After graduation from undergraduate school, Elaina spent three years working in retail management. Elaina is passionate about practicing labor and employment law on the side of working class people upon graduation of law school.
